How to Use Etter Art Stencils
Step 1: Place your stencil on the desired area and apply your chosen medium, such as spray paint.
Step 2: Continue applying the stencil pattern until you’re satisfied. Decide how much of the pattern you want to reveal, where to place it, and in which colours.
Tips for Creative Use
Tip 1: For added dimension, use stencils to create both visual and tactile textures. Work in layers, allowing each one to dry before applying the next—unless you want the colours or textures to blend. For tactile effects, try working with wax or thicker layers of paint.
Tip 2: Some stencils come with punched-out pieces, which can be used separately or as positive and negative elements in your artwork.
As you can see, working with stencils is far from limiting. They give you the freedom to explore your artistic potential and create truly unique pieces.
