Marble Powder by Etter Art: The Fine Texture Medium for Your Art
Fine. Fascinating. Versatile.
Why is it so important that marble powder is extremely fine? Because only then can you mix an excellent “texture paste” for your artwork. No sifting, no lumps. Quick and easy to mix by hand.
Why is our marble powder so fascinating? You have to experience it yourself. (And you will!)
That leaves one more thing: versatility. Just like you and your art. Its ultra-fine texture allows for a wide range of applications – from texture pastes and drawing chalks to fresco techniques.

How to Use Etter Art Marble Powder
Discover Stefanie Etter’s favorite recipe for a marble powder texture paste. It’s a classic for artistic applications!
Step 1: You will need approximately two parts marble powder and one part acrylic binder (measured by volume).
Step 2: First, place the marble powder into a mixing container. It is ground so finely that you do not need to sift it beforehand.
Step 3: Then slowly stir in the acrylic binder, preferably using a spatula. Be sure to use an acrylic binder, not an acrylic emulsion.
Step 4: Check the consistency of your mixture: Does it feel like a thick cake batter? Then it is perfect as a texture medium.
If it is too thick or too thin, simply add a little more acrylic binder or marble powder and mix again.
Step 5: Apply your texture paste to your painting surface (or any other desired substrate) using a palette knife or spatula.
Step 6: While applying the paste and afterward, create the desired textures and patterns.
Step 7: Be patient. Your texture paste will take approximately 24 hours to dry, depending on the thickness of the application. Heat can speed up the drying process. Feel free to use sunlight or underfloor heating if available.
Your own texture paste for your own art. As you can see, creating it with Etter Art Marble Powder is easy.
A fine thing indeed, wouldn’t you agree?
