"Arctic Voyage": Mixed Media Structure Art

Product information ""Arctic Voyage": Mixed Media Structure Art "

"Arctic Voyage": Mixed Media Structure Art - your online self-study course (video Course)

We are completely besotted. And as is the case with a new love: you want to tell the whole world. So that's what we're doing!

Do you like mixed media art? Do you like ice? And the sea? Then you're bound to have a crush on this form of mixed media too. And fall in love with the Arctic Ocean. Because that's exactly the sea of ice you'll create with the help of the video course.

We'll tell you right here: It's a bit bizarre - but the ice effect in this art is based on wax. You apply it hot to your picture and then watch it visually freeze. Very exciting.

What do you say? Are you travelling to the Arctic Ocean with us?

Your content in the video course "Arctic Voyage"

• 1 video: Learn how to create your own Arctic picture step by step.
• 60 minutes duration: From hot to cold, from melting to wax ice crystals. Your journey with the video lasts just under 60 minutes. You decide how (long) it continues afterwards.
• 1 handout: with space for notes, things to read and a list of materials.

How to create your artwork "Arctic Voyage" - the theory

Already familiar with mixed media? We're pretty sure: you're not yet familiar with this form of mixed media structure art.

We're going on an "Arctic Voyage" together. We're taking a wide variety of materials and techniques with us. The sea of ice combines the texture materials resiCRETE and XL CRACKLE PASTE with sprays, resin and encaustic wax. You can fill, spray, pour and brush.

Stefanie Etter will discuss each material and technique so that you can understand how to use it in practice. Also why you are using each of them.
How do your textured materials tear? What can you achieve with sprays? Why are resin and pigments also relevant for your picture composition? What exactly can you achieve with encaustic wax - and how do you work with this fascinating material?

How to get to the sea of ice step by step: cool colours, ice flakes and ice crystals.
Sounds like a lot of cold? It actually turns out to be hot love. For this new form of mixed-media structure art.

This is what you get in the video course "Arctic Voyage" - the practice

• Working in several steps on a wooden painting surface: Your materials must dry or harden well in between.
• Creating structures - creating ice flakes: Get to know resiCRETE, XL CRACKLE PASTE and the differences between these two texture materials. This also includes the topic of colours.
• Creating ice sea colours with sprays: Find out what you should pay attention to when spraying. The right spraying technique is important.
• Drying time: Maybe you're dealing with the same situation as me in the video: a little too much heat. I'll show you what this can mean for your artwork and how to deal with it properly. What sounds like a mistake, is simply vibrant and real art. Learn how to handle it safely.
• Creating a sea of ice with resin: important basics for you. Measuring, mixing, colouring, pouring, spreading. Plus: why different degrees of coverage are sometimes important. Extra: Use resin stripes to create one of many finishing touches to your artwork.
• Drying time: this is the time for you to keep a close eye on your resin surface. So that you avoid certain things.
• Ready or not ready? Up to this point, you have already created a fantastic work of art. But more of a sea than a sea of ice. So let's move on.
• Encaustic wax for the special ice sea effect: You understand the material and know how and where to use it best for the ice sea effect. Heat plays a role here. Heat to achieve ice, so to speak. You'll understand this with the video, I promise.
• Ready? Done!

How do you like our little travelogue? So good that you fancy an Arctic Voyage? Then let's start travelling and icing. The path to your ice-cold work of art. Which is sure to melt your creative soul and heart.
